Founder of Gravity Ballet

Eve Yu

Dance Educator・Choreographer・Artistic Director

Eve is a seasoned dance educator and choreographer, graduated from the Dance Department of National Taiwan University of Arts, and holds a master’s degree from National Chengchi University. From 2006 to 2012, she served as a soloist with the Taipei Chamber Ballet, performing in numerous classic ballets.

In 2009, she founded Gravity Ballet in Hong Kong—the first ballet school in the city dedicated solely to adult learners. With a belief that ballet should be accessible at any age, Eve created a welcoming and professional platform that has since empowered hundreds of adult dancers and nurtured a thriving adult ballet community.

Eve’s choreographic works are recognized for their rich visual layers and emotive musical interpretations, winning accolades including awards at international arts festival choreography competitions. She has collaborated with international teams for productions at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, with multiple works receiving gold awards in open dance competitions across Hong Kong. Her pieces are delicate, relatable, and deeply emotional, earning great affection from audiences.

In 2025, Eve brought the brand and energy of Gravity Ballet back to Taiwan, dedicated to fostering adult ballet education and performance. She hopes to cultivate a dance ecosystem unique to Taiwan, where more adults who love ballet can continue learning, expressing themselves, and pursuing their dreams. To her, dance is not only a display of technique, but also an artistic language deeply intertwined with life.
